Underground Reservoir - a time lapse

Picture

Step One

After the trench is safe and secure lower the reservoir
Picture

Step Two

Detach the chain used to lower the reservoir into the prepared trench
Picture

Step Three

Double sided Commercial Mastic is used to permanently seal the two sections together

Final Steps

Picture
The Westcon cement lid is lowered carefully onto the awaiting lower section. They must align perfectly to create a water tight seal. This is a skill in communication and takes a talented crane operator.

Hydrants

Picture
The weight of the upper section compressed  the mastic and makes a permanent seal. This particular tank is a 5,000 gal reservoir.
